Warley Woods, managed by Warley Woods Community Trust, is among a record-breaking number (1,797) of parks and green spaces that will today receive a prestigious Green FlagAward.
This international award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.
Viv Cole, Trust Manager said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for the ninth year running from Keep Britain Tidy. This Award recognises and highlights that local people are benefitting from a green space of the very highest quality. The Community Trust has been managing the site for 13 years now and its staff and volunteers are very proud of its track record of high standards.”
International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme. Each flag is a celebration of the thousands of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award. The success of the scheme, especially in these challenging times, demonstrates just how much parks matter to people.”
Warley Woods Community Trust will be proudly flying its new 2017-18 Green Flags at both entrances shortly.
