The new children’s play and adventure playground in Lightwoods Park is due to be officially opened this Friday (18th) at 11.am and marks the first completed stage in the Lightwoods Park and House restoration project.

Strange time to open a play area for children – 11am on a school day…
It looks great. I only wish I was about 50 years younger so I could go and play on it. What a total contrast to the old play areas including the one that was originally about 55+ years ago by the top end of the park adjacent to Lightwood Hill which consisted of seasaws, swings and roundabouts.
This is a credit to all involved in this project and not giving up to see it completed
Huge thanks to all who have been involved in resurrecting this incredibly worthwhile project. Play area looks fantastic and a great idea to open it early ahead of the other works. I just wish I was 20 years younger!!
