Well done to Bearwood mosaic artist Caroline Jariwala whose splendid mosaic owl was identified as one of the highlights during Birmingham's Big Hoot. The 89 individually sculptured owls were dotted around a 94 mile trail around Birmingham and its suburbs, attracting visitors from across the country.
Last weekend the owls were gathered together for one last time when they went on display at Eastside Park next to Millennium Point in the city. Then, last night all 89 owls were auctioned off for charity. At the end of bidding a fantastic sum of half a million pounds had been raised for Birmingham Children's Hospital with Caroline's colourful mosaic owl raising £10,200 of that.
Well done Caroline, we're proud of you!
Well done Caroline…..what about a mosaic ‘Bear for Bearwood’…..?
Just a thought…….
It would be a dream come true to make a community mosaic in our lovely Bearwood!
I’d love that too if we could find an appropriate site.
In front of The Corks in the new & beautiful garden, peut-être???
Worth a look. I think Mick the steward is on holiday, but I’ll try and have a word with him when he gets back.
oooh fabulous! Bring it on! It would look stunning in front of there…plus we could do several mini mosaics created as a drop-in workshop with passers by… I have many ideas :O)
Congratulations Caroline, it’s really beautiful! I have a photo of my 5 year old son standing in front of it!
Please do tag me to the photo on Facebook Miranda – i have created an album Selfies by Starlight on my page Mango Mosaics
Well done do you know where it has gone to?
I don’t know who the Mystery Shopper is…yet!
I’d love to see a mosaic “Bearwood Bear” in front of the Corks Club as a piece of Bearwood public art celebrating the fantastic creative people we have in BEARWOOD…I spoke with Jackie Chana at Oooops Gallery in Sandon Road who told me it is shutting such a shame
