Black Country Ales at Lightwoods Festival

Black Country Breweries who are due to open a new real ale pub in Bearwood are to partner up with last year's May Day festival sponsors, Enville Ales, to provide the real ale tent at this year's Lightwoods Park Bank holiday festival.

Friends of Lightwoods Chair Richard Marshall, and Abbey Ward councillor Bob Piper met with Enville Director Jerry Hedges last month and Jerry confirmed that Black Country Breweries had indicated they would also welcome the opportunity to provide a range of beers (yes, yes, and some cider) for this year's festival.

Bob Piper said, “We didn't want to announce anything in advance of this week's licence review meeting over the new pub on Bearwood Road because we didn't want any suggestion that we were trying to influence the outcome of the review.”

The Friends Group welcome the continuing support of Enville, who have confirmed they will be brewing a special Lightwoods Ale again this year, and also welcome on board Black Country Breweries as a partner. Jerry has also pledged to provide the Enville Beer bus on site where park volunteers will be able to take a break. Here's looking forward to another good day!!
