First hurdle cleared

The proposed planning application to convert the former HSBC bank on Bearwood Road to a public house went to Sandwell Council's planning committee this evening.

The Committee received 78 representation – 67 mostly from Bearwood residents welcoming the bar, 17 residents objections, ans 4 general representations.

After consideration, and with no objections by Environmental Health or Highways, the committee determined to approve the application.

The pub will still have to satisfy the Licensing Committee.

Good news, 67 favourable representations must be some form of record. Hope there’s room for all 67 of us in the new pub.
