There has been a major incident in Barclay Road on the vacant land between 103-109 Barclay Road. A workman on the site has fallen fairly deeply into serious mud and the site is currently closed off and the road closed between Upper St Mary’s Road and Lightwoods Hill. There are about six police vehicles in attendance, an ambulance and paramedic vehicle and two fire engines as people desperately try to get down to the man.

Yes Linda, but we’re not sure of his condition. Two tonnes of soil fell on him.

He went to hospital for observation and possible chest and pelvic injury, Julie, but nothing serious I’m pleased to say.
