A combination of a wonderful event, the best weather England has seen for 8 months, some terrific musicians and that tremendous Bearwood community spirit, gave us an incredible May Day event in the park today. Tomorrow I will try to post a roll of honour to thank as many of the fantastic people who gave up hours of their time for not one penny piece of reward to make this event such a great day out for everyone… but for now, here are just some of the hundreds of photos of the event!
Believe me…these guys are strong!
…and these fellahs are pretty nifty on their feet.
Bearwood-stock! Just some of the estimated 15-20,000 people who came to watch.
The dhol drummers were fantastic on the bandstand!
Esther Turner, where did she get that powerful voice!
Team Bearwood dig in against the previously unbeaten Sandwell Leisure Trust.
You wear it well… Colin Hall’s Gypsy Blood belt out a song that reminds you of when Rod Stewart really could sing!
A packed house for punch and Judy
Club Berlin on the main stage…
And the winners are… Team Bearwood! Tug-of-War champs against the odds.
Thanks Bob for the great pictures. I agree it was an excellent day out. Well done and huge thanks for all those who worked to make it such a fantastic success.
Fabulous day well done and thank you to all those involved.
Well done Richard Marshall…..Bearwood couldn’t have done it without you…….!!!!!!
