Each time we receive a new license application for Abbey Ward I will post the details on the blog. They are not as frequent as planning applications, and under the rather complicated licensing laws there are some limits on the public right to object to an application, which I will attempt to clarify as we go along.
This week we have a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) which allows someone to apply for a special license for a limited period, for an event with less than 500 people in attendance.
Only the police or a Council's Environmental Health Department can object to a TEN, and that must be within 3 days of the application being received, so there is no public right to object. More information on TEN's can be found here.
