You’re never too old to learn

Some time ago the then Labour MP Tony Benn said on Radio 4’s Any Questions that he thought the school leaving age should be raised to ninety. To his surprise, he got an indignant letter the following week from a chap aged 93 who wrote, “Why are you discriminating against me on the grounds of age!” It turned out the man had enrolled on an Open University degree in his nineties… which just goes to prove the old adage that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Which leads me nicely on to this…
