Traders’ Meeting

The Bearwood Traders Association held another successful meeting at The Bear last night (19th April) to discuss general issues about business rates in the area, and the way forward for the future. Chaired by Traders’ Chair Richard Marshall, speakers also included officers from the Council’s Revenue and Benefits Department and a private rating company with expertise in this area, and the Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for Strategic Resources, Cllr. Steve Eling.

Richard Marshall said after the meeting, “It went really well considering the complex nature of some of the subject matter, and there were some very good points made both by the speakers and in contributions from the Traders.”

After the meeting some of the businesses stayed behind for one-to-one advice sessions where individual issues could be taken up in greater depth.

Please count me in – brilliant idea. I could see if some of my neighbours would be willing to work out a weekly or monthly rota on our road. Have you thought about asking if Lordswood school would be interested in helping out in some way?
